Josephine LaRocca Obituary
Josephine "Joan" R. LaRocca (nee Ranalli) of Park Ridge, NJ passed away tragically on Sunday, April 8, 2018. She was 92 years old. Beloved wife of the late Anthony LaRocca for 58 years. Devoted mother of Sallyann M. LaRocca, Angela R. LaRocca and her husband Ralph Ievoli, and Anthony M. LaRocca and his wife Michele. Dear sister of Anthony Ranalli, Anita Checchia, Barbara Rubino and the late Diana Flocco. Cherished grandmother of Tara, Melissa, Marc and Lilly. Also survived by her great-granddaughter Ariella.
Before retiring Joan had been a professional seamstress her whole life making wedding and bridesmaid dresses. She was also a nurses aide at Pascack Valley Hospital, Westwood, NJ for 10 years. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home, Inc., 155 Kinderkamack Road, Park Ridge, NJ. rsfhi.com Funeral Mass 10 AM on Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Leo's R. C. Church, Elmwood Park, NJ. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson, NJ. I will always remember Joan very fondly. She loved having our children swim in her pool during the Summer. That backyard provided many happy occasions: birthdays, family & friend parties, and ...something very meaningful to our family. We will never forget the kindness of Joan's generosity in providing an opportunity for our son to work on his Eagle project in her backyard! The scouts met over several months building a "Tree Trunk Library" from downed trees. The entire project was transported by the Hall- LaRocca family down to the center of Town adjacent to Memorial Field. We will always remember Joan in some way, and her subtle influence in making this all possible! Thank You forever Dear Joan. Love the Hall Family
