Edward W. Ollick

Edward W. Ollick of Mentor, Ohio passed away from Pneumonia and organ failure on April 28, 2018 at the age of 78. Although born in Phila., Pa., he spent his school years in Teaneck, N.J. and then Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. He is survived by his three children, Tanya Ollick, Tracey Ollick Parker and Andrew Ollick; grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher and Robin Parker and niece, Alexis Ollick; as well as his ex-wife, Paula Ollick Howard, who was at his bedside along with the children when he passed. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara (Bobbie) Lazo, brother, Wayne Ollick, brother, Jerry McDonald, brother, James McDonald; nieces, Brianne Quintana and Tina Vaccaro; and nephews, Jim, Tom and Mike McDonald . Ed was a Peace Corp volunteer in Chile after graduating from Columbia University in New York. He then worked for the U.S. State Dept. as an interpreter-host, accompanying Latin America dignitaries around the country. He and his family, subsequently, moved to Mentor, Ohio and he worked for the Lake County government as a programmer before his recent retirement. His hobbies were folk music, restoring old trolley cars and Ultralight Airplanes. He was an avid reader and played various musical instruments over time. A memorial service for Ed will be held at St. Anne Church, 15-05, St. Anne Street, Fair Lawn, N.J.-07410 (just off Broadway) on May 26th, 2018 at 12 noon.
