Simone Bourdon Obituary

Simone A. Bourdon 1944 - 2021
Norwich - Simone A. Bourdon, 76, wife of Roland Bourdon, passed away peacefully Monday, January 11, 2021, at Backus Hospital.
She is survived by her husband Roland Bourdon of Lisbon; son Robert and his wife Jill of South Windsor, daughter Jodi Bourdon of South Glastonbury; 3 granddaughters, Natalie and Abigail Bourdon and Kylie Ramanan, and 2 grandsons, Kobe and Jude Ramanan. She is also survived by her sister Carol Fitch of Lisbon.
Born July 26, 1944, in Norwich, she was the daughter of the late Conrad and Blanche Langlois Smith. Simone attended Norwich Free Academy, and then worked as a legal secretary. She later became a dedicated homemaker and mother.
Simone was a very active member of St. Joseph Church in Occum, supporting numerous fund raisers. She ran the tag sale clothing section at the annual fall festival, often turning her basement into a virtual Goodwill store as she prepared.
Simone enjoyed traveling with her husband, and would make annual trips to Florida, excursions to the Cayman Islands, and later in Maine and around New England.
She loved playing Scrabble with friends and family, both in person and online. She was known for her baking and cooking, and anything she prepared for an event quickly disappeared. "Memere" as she was called, was a devoted grandmother, and attended nearly every one of her grandchildren's many activities all over the state.
Due to the pandemic and social distancing, church services will be limited to family members, services will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021, 10 am at St. Joseph's Church. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Greenville.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Simone Bourdon to St. Joseph Church, PO Box 256, Versailles, CT 06383.
Guillot Funeral Home of Taftville is in charge of arrangements.

Our deepest condolences Mr. Bourdon, Jodi, Rob & Jill during this time. Losing a spouse & mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can endure. We have so many great memories of Simone over the years - she treated us as family. It was fun saying or doing something to get a reaction from her - and Simone would then give the "eyebrow" when you struck a nerve. She opened her heart & her home to us, such a kind & caring lady. There is no one like Simone... her memory will live on forever.

Love, Brenda & Rich

My condolence to Roland and his family, this news breaks my heart, Simone was sending me messages to please pray for her, I prayed so hard for her, she went through so much pain. I guess God just needed a special angel in heaven to look after us. RIP Simone. .
