Betty Brown Memoriam
Betty was born in Vancouver to her parents, Jack and Helen Smyth (nee Crompton). She grew up with her sister, Colleen on a dairy farm in North Vancouver - now Maplewood Farm.
In 1953, Betty married Don Brown and they built a home in North Vancouver where they raised their family. Betty loved knitting and crafting, was active in the community and worked in local municipal and school libraries. Betty and Don enjoyed a fun retirement, with winters in Arizona and summers at Green Lake in the Caribou. Betty was predeceased by her husband Don.
Betty was a quiet but strong, determined and empathetic person who was a trusted and dependable friend. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed, especially by her children, Michael (Joan), Duncan (Paddy), Stewart (Debbie), and Barbara; grandchildren, Laura, Justin, Meagan, Jessica, and Sean; and great-granddaughter, Archie.
A special thanks to the folks at Berkley Care Centre who were so kind and helpful in Betty's care these last few years. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
