Geneva Virginia Miller Shafer, 90, of Quicksburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
Geneva was born on September 13, 1930 at Fulks Run, Virginia, the daughter of the late Jesse Lee Miller and Stella Curtus Ritchie Miller.
She was a teacher at Valley Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Lester Shafer, whom she married on August 27, 1948 and three sons, Randy Lester, Jonathan and Walter Lee.
Geneva is survived by a son, Daniel Shafer and his wife, Janel of Quicksburg; a brother, Charles Miller of Timberville; five grandchildren, Lori Fredericks, Jonathan Shafer, Sara Shafer, Bethany Boyd and Kelsey Fauver; fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 2 to 3:00 PM at Valley Baptist Church with a funeral service being held at 3:00 PM with burial following at Mount Jackson Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Andrew Inboden, Pastor Chad Estep, and Pastor Jim Bailey.
The arrangements are in the care of Heishman Funeral Service, Inc. and Valley Funeral Service Branch, Bowman's Crossing.
