May Lilly Waddell, 93, of White Post died Sunday, September 19, 2021 in her residence.
She was born March 1, 1928 in Warren County, VA the daughter of John and Lucy Strother Sloat.
She married Leach Waddell April 30, 1949. Mr. Waddell passed away in 2016.
May enjoyed playing guitar, baking, and entertaining family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Jane Waddell and her fiance Wayne, of White Post, Sherrie Sears and her husband, Bill of Front Royal, Billy Waddell of Winchester, James Waddell of Culpepper, and Clarence Waddell of Warren County; nine grandchildren, and twenty six great grandchildren.
Her siblings and daughter, Rita Livermore preceded her in death.
A funeral will be 11:00 am Friday in Phelps Funeral Chapel 311 Hope Drive Winchester officiated by Evangelist Joe Lewis.
Burial will be in Rockland Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary bearers will be her sons.
Friends will be received Thursday 7-9:00 pm in the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Phelps Funeral & Cremation Service.
