Mary Alice Swartz Foltz, 91, of Edinburg, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Greenfield in Strasburg.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Reverend Mary Louise Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery.
Mrs. Foltz was born May 19, 1923 in Strasburg, daughter of the late Noah Franklin Swartz and Fannie Gochenour Swartz.
She was a 1941 graduate of Woodstock High School and formerly employed as a teller/bookkeeper at First Virginia Bank and at Edinburg Aileen.
She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she had taught Bible School and belonged to the Ladies Aide.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Franklin Foltz Sr.
She is survived by four children, Ralph Franklin Foltz Jr. and wife, Phyllis, of Woodstock, Sharon Hall and husband, Ray, of Prattville, Alabama, Michelle Hawkins and husband, W. Douglas, of Woodstock and James Randall (Randy) Foltz of Fort Valley; brothers and sisters, Ralph Swartz (dec) and wife, Joyce, of Arvada, CO, Harold Swartz and Charlotte (dec) of Woodstock, Helen Mowery of Prescott, AZ and husband, Johnny (dec), Charles (Jim) Swartz and wife, Ruby, of Fort Valley, Jack Swartz and wife, Dolores, of Indiatlantic, FL, Betty Bowers of Pulaski and husband, Rev Auburn Bowers (dec), Calvin Swartz and wife, Katrina, of Edinburg and Shelva Jean Pingley of New Market; grandchildren, Steven Foltz, Brian Foltz and wife, Melinda, Andrew Foltz, Jason Hall, Jordan Hall, Zachary Hawkins and wife, Leslie, and Sara Hawkins; three great grandchildren, Matthew Foltz, Jacob Foltz and Emmaleigh Foltz.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Hawkins, Andrew Foltz, Brian Foltz, David Rhinehart, Andy Shipp and Mark Irvin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Foltz, Jason Hall, Jordan Hall, Sara Hawkins.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
