My wife, Grace, and I, were shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Kent and Patty. Kent and Patty were fun-loving and always full of life, warmth and friendship. Kent was the perfect gentleman and helped show me the ropes when I joined the defense and aerospace industry as head of the TRW Washington Office and Kent was heading the General Dynamics Washington Office. Kent's military service was exemplary. He was a true patriot. He and Patty will be sorely missed, but their memory will be with us always. Our prayers and heartfelt condolences are extended to all members of their family.

Please accept my sincere sympathies. Do not underestimate the value of prayer. It is not that prayer simply makes us feel better. The " Hearer of prayer " promises to give holy spirit to his servants who sincerely ask for it. ( Psalm 65 : 2; Luke 11 : 13 ) Yes, more than anything else, a relationship with God can help his faithful servants to cope with the death of a loved one.

My deepest condolences to Kent and Patty's family at such a loss. I first knew Kent when I would travel to WashDC for General Dynamics and he provided corporate help. Then we discovered we were both Mizzou grads and were involved supporting the College of Engineering through the Dean's Council and our Foundation. They were exceptional in every measure! God's comfort to the family.

In high school, Kent was a gentleman. In adulthood he was, in my opinion, a hero, a patriot, a husband, a father and grandfather. Through his good times and travails, he remained that gentleman. Sadly, I didn't know Patty, but that surely is my loss. I shall miss those family pictures on Facebook.
When I got a "Like" from Kent on Facebook it was like getting a gold star. I respected his opinions.
The United States, the greatest country in the history of the world, is a far better place because of men like Kent.
I will end with a line from a 1954 movie, "Where do we get such men?"
