Bertram Lynn Sellers Jr. Obituary
Bertram Lynn Sellers, Jr. (December 4, 1935–May 19, 2019) was born in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey to parents Bertram Lynn Sellers and Anna Gauntt. His great passions in life were cars, photography, and music. He spent seven years in the National Guard and worked as an auto mechanic for many years. He raced cars from the time he was a teenager and ended up racing in both the U.S. and Australia, earning dozens of trophies. A swing band in which Lynn played piano (Court's Jesters) competed on Ted Mack's Amateur Hour, and they came in second to a young Gladys Knight, in her first television appearance. In retirement, Lynn taught himself how to assemble computers and enjoyed collecting vintage cameras and guns.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bertram Ezra Sellers, sisters Mildred (Sellers) Neborsky and Ruth (Stradling) Appleton, and grandson Garry Doerner. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Daugherty) Sellers; sisters Dorothy (Sellers) Davis and Carol (Sellers) Henderson; children Laura Kent, Janice M. Sellers, Mark Sellers, and Stacy Fowler; stepchildren Cynthia Sanders, Donald Truby, and Janet Wheeler; grandchildren Joel Kent, Matthew Fowler, William Fowler III, Rebecca Fowler, Adam Sellers, and Miriam Sellers; and great-grandchildren Zachary Kent, Connor Kent, and Natalie Doerner.
A private ceremony will be held to celebrate Lynn's life. His passion and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
