McCULLOM LAKE – Diane Klapperich Laney, 56, of McCullom Lake, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She put up a long, courageous fight against breast cancer.
She was born Dec. 15, 1953, in Woodstock, to John and Eileen (Greaney) Klapperich.
She graduated from McHenry High School in 1972 and was a distinguished member of Table 4.
She attended Rockford College where she received her RN and bachelor's degree in science and nursing in 1996. She loved being a hospice nurse.
She found joy in spending time with her family and very dear friends.
She was a very proud mom of Murry Bolger, John Bolger, Kitty (Tim) Cisler and Patrick (Vail) Polidori. She also is survived by her parents, John and Eileen Klapperich; her sisters, Kathie (Terry) Lynd and Pattie (Jim) Osswald; her brothers, Jim (Marcia) Klapperich, Michael Klapperich and Tim (Terri) Klapperich; her aunts, Kathleen Godina, Kathryn Mix and Shirley Klapperich; and 13 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William and Lena Klapperich; her maternal grandparents, James and Catherine Greaney; and a brother, Daniel Klapperich.
The visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Mass celebration Thursday, Aug. 12, at St. Patrick Church, 3500 Washington St., McHenry, with private family interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
