Arthur F. Schwanke, Jr. of Huntley, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Marengo at the age of 93.
He was born September 15, 1921 in Des Moines, Iowa to Arthur Sr. and Verna (nee Henderson) Schwanke. Arthur was a proud WWII Army Veteran. He enjoyed spending his time sailing, playing tennis, and golfing.
Arthur is survived by the mother of his children, Barbara (nee Dreffein) Schwanke; wife, Janice (nee Redmann); children, Janet (Jim) Hustler, Jo (Michael) Lange, Jeri Innis, Jil Schwanke, Steve (Barbara) Schwanke, Terri Foley Schneider, Donna (Bob) Watson, and Peggy (Steve) Bucklin; grandchildren, Anthony (Stephanie) Hustler, Jeffrey Hustler, Brent (Lora) Lange, Kory (Kelly) Lange, Kacy (Chris) Pittman, Kylie (Jordan) Brough, Ali Godesiabois, Brianna, Morgan, and Garrett Schwanke, Colleen (Patrick) Cameron, Elizabeth (Scott) Gregerson, Julie and Rob Watson, Bridget, Shannon and Tara Bucklin; great-grandchildren, Elea, Kamryn, Halle, Jordan, Madison, Taylor, Amalie, and Gigi; and his brother, Richard Schwanke.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Amy Foley; and sister, Martha Schauss.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church, 8505 Church St. (in Ridgefield) Crystal Lake, IL 60012.
Memorial donations in Arthur's memory may be made to the JourneyCare Foundation, 405 Lake Zurich Rd., Barrington, IL 60010.

Art was a beloved member of our church in Walhalla, SC until he moved to Illinois. I was sad when he moved away and surprised and sad today to learn of his death. He lived a good life and, no doubt, is living a better and happier one in Heaven. Rest in peace, dear friend!
