CAROL A. SUSDORF VALPARAISO, IN Carol Susdorf, age 74, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. Born to the late Michael and Evelyn Berkoski on November 5, 1940 in Valparaiso. She is survived by her loving husband, Francis "Lefty" Susdorf; children: Jeff (Kim) Susdorf and Jody (Mike) Silhavy; grandchildren: Steve, Gary (Anna), and Justin Susdorf, Morgan and Jack Silhavy; great grandchildren: Jason and Jacob Susdorf; sisters-in-law, Judy Berkoski, Sue Carpenter, Anne Fields, Sandy (Carl) Albertson; brother-in-law, Ken (Cindy) Susdorf; many loving nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her son, Todd, parents, and brothers: Bob and Don Berkoski; and sister-in-law, Ruby Berkoski. Carol was a lifelong resident of Valparaiso, graduate of Valparaiso High School, and a former Valparaiso Community School bus driver for 26 years, where she was known as "Sus". Carol loved spending time with her family. One of her favorite things to do was watching her children and grandchildren at their many sporting events. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, clogging and cheering on her Chicago Cubs. Carol was a huge animal lover as seen by her backyard where she fed the birds, deer, squirrels, and even wild turkeys. She touched the lives of many people with her compassion, kindness, smile, and sense of humor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 N. Campbell St., Valparaiso IN. Pastor Dean Christensen officiating. Cremation, Calvary Crematory, Portage IN. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Dykes Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the charity of choice.
