Catalina Moreno Obituary

CATALINA MORENO "La GUERA" FORMERLY OF EAST CHICAGO, IN
Catalina Moreno, age 92, formerly of East Chicago, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 27, 2011. She is survived by four loving daughters: Amparo (Ramon) Abrego, Belia (Alfonso) Menchaca, Nereida (Tony) Williams, and Irma (Enrique) Jimenez; five loving sons: Hermilo (Candy) Moreno, Apollo (Enid) Moreno, Luis (Teresa) Moreno, George (Dalia) Moreno, and Moy Moreno; 27 grandchildren; five great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Hermilo B. Moreno. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Mary's Parish, East Chicago. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN and 1/2 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial in her home town of Zacoalo De Torres Jal. Mexico. La Guera (Blondy) longed to return to her native land. Her wishes were granted and now she can live in her paradise she called home. Cata's passion was for flowers and the outdoors filled her void. But now she is singing and whistling in her garden as we most remembered her in her happiest times.
