Margaret Mary "Marge" LaBrie

MARGARET MARY "MARGE" LA BRIE VALPARAISO, IN Margaret Mary "Marge" LaBrie, age 84, of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City. She was born July 26, 1930 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Even and Catherine (Garvey) Hibbs. Marge had worked as a switchboard operator for Sears Roebuck for over 13 years and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and playing cards and games. Marge was a devoted wife and mother and a dear friend to many who will miss her greatly. She loved to help out anybody that needed a hand, a smile or a friendly conversation. On September 9, 1950 in Chicago, she married Joseph LaBrie who preceded her in death in 2001. Marge is survived by her three sons: Michael of Valparaiso, Jeffrey of Seattle, Washington, and Eric of Valparaiso; sisters-in-law and also best friends: Ruby Hibbs of Illinois and Emelda Luippold of Massachusetts, and her longtime best friend of 50 years, Lucille "Brownie" Michiaels. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Hibbs and sister, Betty Hibbs. A memorial gathering will take place Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso with a service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Fr.
