RICHARD MARVIN CASHEN JR. HAMMOND, IN
Richard Marvin Cashen Jr., age 81, of Hammond, IN passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Coy Dean "Lillian"; four sons: Tony (Amy) Cashen of Highland, IN, Robert (Christine) Cashen of St. John Twp., Dennis (Marcie) Cashen of San Diego, CA and David (Lisa) Cashen of Gilbert, AZ; eleven grandchildren: Emma Flores, Ashley Billman, Eric, Alyse, Melissa, Matthew, Cameron, Jessie, Andrew, Mackenzie and Ian Cashen; three great grandchildren: Benny, Vincent and Jacob; three brothers: Ray, Larry and Wayne Cashen; sister, Ann Bentley; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cashen was preceded in death by his sons: Dale and Rick Cashen; parents: Richard Sr. and Rose Cashen; and sisters: Wanda Payne and Violet Kenau. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 DIRECTLY at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 6605 Kentucky Ave., Hammond, IN with Father Larry Kew officiating. Interment will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Friday, May 9, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN. Mr. Cashen was a 53 year member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Hammond. He retired from Inland Steel with 38 years of service and was a member of the Inland Management Club.
