ELIZA B. SIMS (MaDEAR)
Eliza B. Sims (nee Williams) our beloved MaDear, 97, passed away Friday, October 24, quietly at home with family members by her side. She was born in Port Gibson, MS on December 30, 1916, an only child of the late Percy Williams and Gertrude Ramsey. At an early age, MaDear started her Christian journey and throughout her life served in various church ministries. Herring Chapter #57 O.E.S.). She was also a member of White Rose #32 of the Hammond Court of Calanthe Lodge. She retired from St. Margaret Hospital and continued her nursing skills as a home health aide before fully retiring at the age of 82. MaDear loved and lived life on her terms; she was funny, loving and giving, and strong in her beliefs right up to the day she departed this life. She was "MaDear" to her family, to friends and all others to whom she came in contact, "Mother Sims." She devoted her life to the community, family, and friends. Many will miss her, while her legacy lives on.
