Mrs. Ceola Donaldson, age 100 of Gary, IN (former longtime residence of Cairo (Klondike), IL passed away January 21, 2017 At Methodist North Hospital. She was born on May 19, 1916 in Cleveland Mississippi to the late Clarence and Hettie Crapper. As a young child she relocated to Cairo Illinois with her family. She confessed faith in Christ at an early age and united with St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Klondike . She attended Sumner High School and later married Oakland Triplett and to that union two daughters were born, VercieBaity and Delores Bryant. Later she relocated to Chicago, IL where she met and married Lewis Donaldson who preceded her in death. She retired from Phil-maid Factory in Chicago. In her golden years her family brought her to live with them in Gary, IN. She united with New Ebenezer Missionary Baptist and was faithful until she passed. Reverend Brian Hill served as her pastor and she had a deep affection and love for him.She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister (Laura), nephew Clarence, her grandson Donell Baity Jr.(Beaver), and granddaughter, Shawntyne. She is survived by her two daughters Vercie L. Baity and Delores Bryant and (6) grandchildren: Gloria Jones, Diane Erving, Lawrence (Lida) Baity , Kenneth Baity, Rev. Dr. David Bryant, Jr. and Irvin Jerome (Lori) Bryant, (17) great grandchildren, (24) great great grandchildren, (7) great greatgreat grandchildren, (5) five nieces, Connie (John), Dr. Ernestine (Toby) Daniels, Ella Johnson, Lavoyne Gragg, Jacqueline Hall, (2) two nephews: Donald (Virginia) Johnson, Dwayne (Tia) Johnson, a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation Saturday January 28, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Family Hour from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 a.m. all services at New Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church Inc. 305 East 68th PlaceMerrillville, IN, Rev Brian Hill officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.
