James W. Haddad Hammond James W. Haddad, age 54, of Hammond, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2004 at The Community Hospital, Munster, IN. He is survived by his two children, James Haddad, Jr. of Hammond and Elizabeth (Joe Hurley) Haddad of Hammond; two grandchildren, Shelby Anderson and Joseph Hurley, Jr.; his parents, William and Jeanne Haddad, Sr. of Whiting; one brother, William Haddad, Jr. of Whiting; two sisters Dr. Sarah (Dr. Larry) Crawford of Highland and Lt. Colonel Jeanne Haddad of California; numerous aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by wife Gayle Krieger Haddad. Funeral services Thursday, August 19, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. from the Owens Funeral Home, Calumet Ave. & 119th St., Whiting, for 10 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Whiting, with Father Stanley Dominik officiating. Burial, Mount Mercy Cemetery, Gary, IN. Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. James was a member of American Legion Post 66 of Griffith. He was a proud Veteran of service on the U.S.S. Annapolis and U.S.S. Furse during the Vietnam Conflict; a graduate of Sacred Heart School, Whiting, class of 1965 and Clark High School, class of 1969. He was an avid Cub and Black Hawk fan. He was very much loved by all and will be dearly missed.
