Luba (née Gastevich) Popovich CROWN POINT, IN - Luba (née Gastevich) Popovich of Crown Point, passed away on June 10, 2018 at 90 years old. Luba was born in 1927 in Capari, Macedonia to Jovan and Vanka Gastevich. She was a very loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Luba and her beloved husband Vule came to America with their two children in 1959. They were a very active and founding members of SS. Peter and Paul Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral, the first Macedonian Orthodox Church in the United States. She is survived by her loving children Lepa (late Metodia) Tanchevski and Tom Popovich, two dedicated and caring granddaughters Melissa (Tony) Zezovski and Michelle (Zoran) Toseski, five precious great grandchildren that she adored dearly Hunter, Taylor, and Jacob Zezovski and Ava and Simona Toseski; her sister Dorothy (late Steve) Majstorovich along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends in the United States, Macedonia, Canada, and Australia. Luba is preceded in death by her dear parents, her loving and unforgettable husband Vukasin Popovich who was the light of her life, caring son in law Metodia Tanchevski, great granddaughter Bianca Toseski, two sisters Jordanka(late Boris) Mishevski and Stevanka (Georgi) Trajkovski. Her wonderful in laws Misijlo and Seferina Popovski, Milojko (late Ilinka) Popovski, Simo (late Spomenka) Popovich, Millica (late Ilo) Ognenovski, Lubica (late Krste) Popovski, Svetozar Popovski. Luba never met anyone she didn't befriend, always faithful and kind and ready to share her many life lesson stories with and her wonderful cooking and baking. Her bread, strudels, cakes; anything she made was out of this world. Her sense of humor will never be forgotten. She retired from Jantus Sewing Company with 30 years of service. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Heaven just gained another wonderful angel. Visitation will be Friday, June 15, 2018 at the SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Cathedral, 9660 Broadway, Crown Point from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral Services will being at 12:00 p.m. with Father Georgij Gligorov officiating.
