Michael Charles "Mike" Masters BAY VILLAGE, OH - Michael Charles "Mike" Masters of Bay Village, OH, died peacefully amongst his loving family at O'Neill Healthcare - Bay Village on May 14, 2018. Born in Gary, IN on July 25, 1920, Mike enlisted in the Army Specialized Training Program in September, 1942, served his country during World War II in North Africa/Italy, and was honorably discharged in December, 1945. He re-enrolled at Indiana University under the GI Bill to complete his studies and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1947. That same year, he married Violet P. "Fid" Wuletich; they were together for the next 55 years until her passing in 2002. Mike's retail business career with Sears, Roebuck & Co. and, later, The Higbee Company, located him in Indiana, Nebraska, Michigan, Minnesota and, finally, Ohio. Mike was a devoted "Dad" to daughter Barbara Riley (Guilford, Connecticut), and sons Michael Randolph "Randy" Masters (deceased) and John C. Masters (Jennifer), (Lake Forest, IL). He was a loving "Grandpa" to six grandchildren: Gerun W. Riley (Jason Wilborn), Noah A. Riley (Juliette Cohen) and Nathaniel M. Riley (all of Los Angeles, California) and Sarah K. Tanham (Zach Tanham), Hillary C. Masters and Carolyn K. Masters (all of Chicago,IL) and two great-grandchildren: Hadley Mara and Lake Violet Wilborn.Visitation will be between 4:00-8:00 p.m. on May 18, 2018 at the BURNS FUNERAL HOME (10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN) with a Pomen Service at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services and burial will be at the family plot in Calumet Park in Merrillville, IN at 11:30 a.m. on May 19, 2018.
