Michael V. Hreha VALPARAISO, IN - Michael V. Hreha, 83 of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018. He was born February 14, 1935 in East Chicago. Michael proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and graduated from Purdue University Calumet with a degree in mechanical engineering. He made his career as a Supervisor at Bethlehem Steel. Michael was a former member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso, and a current member of Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church in Wheatfield. He was also a member of the Marine Corps League at the American Legion Post 94 and the Men's Club at St. Paul's. Michael enjoyed volunteering at Sorrowful Mother, fishing, and woodworking. He will be remembered for his ability to fix anything, and his generous heart. Michael was one of a kind, and he will be missed every day. On December 31, 1955 Michael married Mary Lange, who survives, along with their children: Jackie (Torrie) Bauer of Valparaiso, Kacie Jamison (Drew) of Valparaiso, Mickie (Ken) Blaney of Valparaiso, Jamie (Tony) DeVos of Wheatfield, Chris Hreha of Valparaiso, Jeff Hreha of Valparaiso; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and grandson, Nate Bauer. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 6:00 PM at MOELLER FUNERAL HOME, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with visitation from 4:00 PM until the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Agnes Adult Day Service Center.
