Mickey Kostelnik HOBART, IN - Mickey Kostelnik, from Hobart, passed away on Friday, March 09, 2018 at the age of 93. Mickey is a proud WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed travelling, fishing, and watching the Cubs. He was employed with Jewel groceries and retired from Gary Screw and Bolt after nearly 30 dedicated years. He is survived by his treasured wife of 65 years, Theresa Kostelnik and his loving children: Mickey (Mary Ellen) Kostelnik Jr., Brian (Pam) Kostelnik, Emery (Terry) Kostelnik and Rhonda Kostelnik as well as 8 beloved grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The family would like to send a special thank you to Jennifer Wingard, Mickey's friend and caregiver, for her friendship and compassion. Friends are invited to visit with the family at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft Street, Merrillville on Monday, March 12, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM with a prayer service offered at 5:00 PM. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM directly at Nativity of Our Savior Church, 2949 Willowcreek Rd, Portage, with visitation at 9:00 AM until time of service. Interment Calumet Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mickey's name made to VNA Hospice (2404 Valparaiso St, Valparaiso, IN 46383) would be greatly appreciated.
