Patricia Kay Ontiveros PORTAGE, IN - Patricia Kay Ontiveros, age 72, of Portage, IN, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018. She was born on May 20, 1946 in Gary, IN to Kenneth and Clara (Fifield) Shults. Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Ontiveros; son, Mark Ontiveros; daughter in law, Nicole Ontiveros; sister, Pamela (Michael) Catsban; grandchildren, Alaina and Elijah Ontiveros. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Hartman. Patricia was a lifelong area resident. She grew up in Deep River and was a graduate of Merrillville High School, class of 1964. Patricia was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church and worked as a teacher's assistant for the Portage Township Schools. She loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Patricia enjoyed travelling and vacationing with her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Rd, Portage, IN 46368, with Father Kevin McCarthy officiating. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, IN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m., at EDMONDS & EVANS FUNERAL HOME, PORTAGE CHAPEL, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368 and Visitation on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be to, University of Chicago Medicine Crohn's Disease Research.
