Raymond R. Brink WESTVILLE, IN - Raymond R. Brink, 86, of Westville passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018. He was born February 19, 1932 to Ray and Coletta (Weaver) Brink, graduated from Merrillville High School and served proudly with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Calvert during the Korean War. Ray made his career with LTV Steel as a General Foreman in the Maintenance Department for 30 years retiring in 1984. He was one of the first volunteer firefighters for the City of Portage. Bass fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, along with western movies, Blackhawks hockey and traveling with family. On September 27, 1954 he married Barbara Kell who preceded him in death in 2000, on December 3, 2002 he married Rita Deistler who survives along with his daughter, Sherri (Christopher) Proper, daughter-in-law, Deborah Brink, son-in-law, Chuck Vanover, step-sons, Ron (Jodi) Deistler and John Deistler, grandchildren: Jodie, Tara (Adam), Joshua and Alex, great granddaughters, Paige and Adalynn, six step grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Vanover in 2009, son, Keith Brink in 2018, brother, Larry and sister, Linda. A visitation will be held Monday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at MOLLER FUNERAL HOME, VALPARAISO. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with burial following at Graceland Cemetery.
