Edward "Ed" M. Puplava, age 79, of Whiting, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011. Beloved son of late Frank and late Mary Puplava nee Dado. Loving brother of late Josephine, late Irene (late Joseph) Gulasy, late Tina, late William, late George, late Frank, late Anthony (late Albina), late Richard, late Mike (Ann), late Tom (late Lottie), and late Charles. Proud uncle of many nieces and nephews and greatnieces and great nephews; and great-great nieces and great- great nephews. Ed was a lifelong member of the IC Church and of Whiting. He enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing, and carpentry. He survived the Battle of Pork Chop Hill during the Korean War. Ed was a very loving uncle and will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, 2011 at 10:30 AM from OWENS- RUZICH FUNERAL HOME, 816 - 119th St., corner of (Rt. 41) Calumet Ave. at 119th St., Whiting to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Rev. Stanley J. Dominik officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday from 3:00-9:00 PM at OWENS-RUZICH FUNERAL HOME.
