Sister Dolores Marie McLaughlin, OSF Sister Dolores Marie McLaughlin, OSF, of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate, died at her residence, Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Joliet, IL on August 31, 2007, at the age of 86. She was a member of the Joliet Franciscans for 59 years. Born in Hammond, IN, she was baptized Bertha Jane. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Helen (Ruth) McLaughlin and brother Robert. She is survived by sisters: Mary Eileen Conces and Helen (Norman) Mills and brother Ralph (Barb) McLaughlin; nieces, nephews and her Joliet Franciscan sisters. Sister Dolores Marie earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the College of St. Francis, Joliet. She earned an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and completed additional courses in business at Barry University, Miami, FL. She ministered for 37 years as a high school teacher in Illinois, Ohio and Florida. She spent 23 of these years at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale. Following her teaching career, she served the Sisters of St. Francis as secretary and office manager of the Development Office at St. Francis Convent for 10 years before retiring to Our Lady of Angels. The wake will be at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, 1201 Wyoming Ave., Joliet, (Wyoming and Rt. 30) on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, from 2-6:45 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:45 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at 8:30 a.m. from Our Lady of Angels to Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, IL.
