THOMAS J. COVEY, MD FORMERLY OF VALPARAISO Feb. 9, 1928 – Sept. 15, 2013
Thomas James Covey, MD, 85, of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Valparaiso, died on September 15, 2013 from Alzheimer’s disease. Tom was born in Chicago and raised in Whiting, IN. Tom graduated from George Rogers Clark High School (Hammond), DePauw University (Greencastle), and Indiana University Medical School. Tom, a pediatrician, faithfully cared for his patients for 40 years in Valparaiso. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Tom is survived by his wife, Barbara J. (LaHue) Covey of Bradenton, FL; daughters: Lorene Covey of Hendersonville, NC and Jennifer Adams of Bradenton, FL; son, Gregory Covey of Ashland, OR; and grandchildren: Lindsey (Lewis) Pabon, Kyle Lewis, and Annalise Covey. Donations may be made to Fast Friends Greyhound Adoption or Tidewell Hospice, both of Sarasota, FL.
