Matthew Kaufmann Obituary
Matthew A. Kaufmann, 44, of Munster, IN passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2014. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Staci (nee Schatz); loving father of Brett and Kyle Kaufmann; stepmother, Louise Kaufmann; brother, Ben (Connie) Kaufmann; uncle, Scott (Ruth) Kaufmann; mother and father-in- laws; Bobbye and Sonny Schatz; sisters-in-law, Randi (Lou) Stricker and Jamie (Jeremy) Friedberg; numerous nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Wanda Kaufmann. Funeral service will be on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Congregation Beth Israel, 535 Progress Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be at Kneseth Israel Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation will be on Sunday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the synagogue. Matt was the President of the Munster Soccer Club and coached numerous teams over the years. He was the Senior Vice President of The Federal Savings Bank in Chicago and was an avid Chicago sports fan. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society or Congregation Beth Israel in his memory would be appreciated. www.kishfuneralhome.net

Although I only met Matt and our wedding and when we went to Chicago to visit I will never forget the say at the Chicago Zoe with the 2 kids and one of then wrecked his out matt walked off to the girls store and come back with some giraffe outfit for the kid. We aall had a great day. He was a true gentleman and a great husband

A great husband, father and friend. He dedicated himself 100% in what ever endeavor he pursued, be it family, work, sports, or Synagogue.
