ROBERT HOCHBAUM CROWN POINT, IN Robert Hochbaum, age 77, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Franciscan St. Anthony Health. Robert is survived by his wife: Lorraine of 48 years; four sons: Jamie (Melissa) Hochbaum of Hebron, IN, Tom Hochbaum of Lowell, IN, Dean (Megan) Hochbaum of Valparaiso, IN and Lionel (Amy) Hochbaum of Crown Point, IN; seven grandchildren: Nolan, Kennedy, Jasper, Dylan, Emily, Elise and Evelyn; and three sisters: Ann Marie Kaldhal, Linda (Jeff) VanDenburgh and Elaine (Paul) VanDenburgh. He was preceded in death by his parents: Cecil and Vivian Hochbaum. Robert retired from The Post Tribune with over 32 years of service. He was a longtime member and former President of The Northwest Indiana Deaf Club, a graduate of The Indiana School for the Deaf and attended Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. In his 60's he traveled around the world by himself visiting many countries and enjoyed Astronomy. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave./South St., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre in Crown Point, IN at 10:30 AM with Fr. Jerry Schweitzer officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home with cremation to follow.
