regrets to announce the death of Reverend James W. Bukofsky, a priest of the

Diocese of Brooklyn. He was born on March 27, 1944 in New York City, New York - was ordained to the

Priesthood on September 4, 1971, and died Friday, August 1, 2014, at Stony Brook

Hospital. Father Bukofsky served the Diocese of

Brooklyn as Pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel (Brooklyn), as well as

Parochial Vicar of Blessed Sacrament (Jackson Heights), Most Precious Blood (Astoria), Our Lady of the Cenacle (Richmond Hill), St. Gerard Majella (Hollis) and Immaculate Conception (Long Island City). He was most recently ministering outside the diocese at St. Sylvester (Medford, NY). Wake on Wednesday, August 6 from 7pm-9pm and
