CULLMAN--Louise Bloomingdale. 95, passed away in her Jamaican home surrounded by family members on March 24, 2014 following a short period of ill health. An avid conservationist and animal lover who enjoyed creating paintings for family and friends, she served on the board of the Wildlife Conservation Society, and with her late husband, Edgar Cullman Sr., was an ardent philanthropist. Her grandfather Lyman along with his brother Joseph were co-founders of Bloomingdale's and Louise was a fourth generation New Yorker. Her most important legacy was her love for her family and her welcoming homes in Stamford, New York, Jamaica and Canada. She is survived by her three children: Lucy, Edgar, and Susan as well as their three spouses, Mike, Ellie and John in addition to nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

We at OPIN (Outreach to Pets In Need) are saddened to hear of the death of such an eloquent woman like Louise. We met Louise only a couple of times. We are the Stamford animal rescue group that adopted Louise and Edgar their last dog, a beautiful hound/shepherd. It was quite evident then that the home we had selected for this homeless pet, was the best that could be. Louise gave us an important tip during our time together, it was very simply "you need to do a brochure for your organization". That was something we hadn't even thought of, so simple a suggestion, yet so insightful. She had an amazing personality and we are glad to have crossed her path. We enjoyed meeting her. Our sympathy to the family of this wonderful lady. Jenny Colucci, Director of OPIN, Inc.

My condolences go out to the Cullman family. I just heard of the passing of Mrs. Cullman. I was fortunate enough to get to know Mrs. Cullman on a persoanl level working
and providing her security services on her North Stamford estate.
I enjoyed her company as she often walked the patrol of her grounds with me. We enjoyed many conversations about her family's beautiful property. Mrs. Cullman expressed her appreciation for securing her privacy and safety and for that I will always remember the wonderful person she was.
My sympathies,

Doubtless the most natively elegant lady I have ever had the good fortune to have meet.
I only wish I had been granted the opportunity to benefit from being in her company for far more time.
My sincere condolences to all of her family.
