LAUTENBERG--Frank R. American Friends of The Hebrew University (AFHU) and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem are deeply saddened by the passing of Senator Frank R. Lautenberg, whose commitment to Israel and The Hebrew University spanned nearly four decades. The loving husband of Bonnie, and treasured father and grandfather, Senator Lautenberg will long be remembered for his inspired leadership and tireless efforts to foster human progress. Senator Lautenberg helped to establish the Lautenberg Center for General and Tumor Immunology at The Hebrew University, a top cancer research center worldwide. He supported the university's Rothberg International School and student scholarships. The distinguished recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from Hebrew University and AFHU's national Scopus Award, Senator Lautenberg served as an Honorary President and national board member of AFHU.
