Fond memories from time 2 decades ago when I worked at S. Kornreich and Sons. Bill had a warm personality and exceptional mind. Always wondered how one young person could adapt to
to any situation with such flair and ease. Being young myself, I didn't know which I admired more - Bill doing business so successfully after a night of clubbing or stories of Bill's relationships with the most well known people in the 70/80's. And, his love of music was at the top of his interests.
R.I.P. - blessings and comfort to his family

Billy was my friend .
We met 34 years ago on March 29th 1980 , when he crashed my 30 th birthday dinner at a French restaurant called Le Zinc
I don't think we exchanged numbers then but a few weeks later we bumped into each other at a bed and breakfast in Southhampton and I began the journey to discover how to properly drink a port wine and hob knob with the rich and famous or network through billys vast number of business connections
We immediately became friends . He was such a sophisticated , polite , and , dapper guy. He was so unassuming and such a fun and interesting person . He knew everybody . One day we were with his uptown business people and the next the down town underground club people .
His love was music , but he could help accomplish anything with his wide range of connections
From finding the best parties in New York City , to helping my son in the film business , to connecting me to the right people to help me sell a $3.2 billion dollar company . He could do it all .
He even protected my children by finding me the top estate lawyers And helping me with the right estate planning
I have 34 years of amazing stories and times spent with Billy from single life to married life
Eileen put the phone to his ear a few days ago and I told him how sorry I was but would see him again wherever he goes and we will party up a storm when I get there
I will surely miss him and think of him always

Billy was a great supporter of the Byrd Hoffman Watermill Foundation for many years. He served as our treasurer. He had a rare gift of understanding business and the arts with a visionary approach to both. Everyone at the Foundation is saddened by his passing. We have lost a great friend.

Dear Billy,
We were roommates in 1980 and then 10 years later in 1990 at 38 w 10th Street. I remember coming home one day and there were members of a cabinet measuring and discussing the creation of a dozen bespoke suits with the finest wools. I'd never seen anything like it. You will be the most debonaire gentleman in Heaven. I will always miss you.
