I was fortunate to have Mr Polk as the Principal at Angleton High School. He was a great principal fair and kind hearted. I remember as African American how proud I was when I would see him a African American man in such a looked up to role stroll around the hallways at school. He cared about the students. My mom and I were just talking about him about 2 weeks ago not knowing he had passed away.

I remember Charles Polk as Coach Polk. He was my 8th grade Science Teacher. He was the best teacher I've ever had. In 1978 (if my memory serves me correctly), I made Student of the Year in his Science class. I'm certain it was because of his teaching skills. I've considered contacting him on several occasions, but regret that I waited too long to thank him personally. Thank you, Coach Polk! You have made such a difference in the lives of so many. See you soon!

Mr. Polk was one of my favorite Principals. He was fair, just and a blessing to be around during our awkward junior high years. I was just thinking about some of the people in my life who really made an impact on me. Mr. Polk was one of those people. He was a great human and and someone I looked up to. Rest in peace Mr. Polk.

I was so sorry to just learn of Coach Polk’s passing. He was my 7th grade science teacher at Clute Intermediate School in the early 1970’s. He truly was one of my most favorite teachers. I received two merit awards the year that I was in Coach Polk’s science class. And he honored me with one of those merit awards in science. Then a few years later, when I was in 11th grade in 1977, I transferred to Angleton High School. To my delight, I found a friendly face in this new, unexplored territory because Coach Polk was now working as a guidance counselor there at AHS. My final school year, I had many fun conversations in passing with Coach Polk as he went about his day when I worked in the principal’s office for my vocational office education job. I remember Coach Polk with great love and admiration. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He truly will be missed.

Coach Polk was my science teacher at Clute Intermediate back in the early 70's. He always called me Penny instead of Terrie. He said I reminded him of a bright shiny penny with my smile. His teaching made me love science. He also gave me my first merit award for science. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and ask God to wrap his arms of comfort and peace around his family and friends.

Mr. Polk gave me my first librarian position, and I will always be thankful for that. A year later, he granted a transfer to my late sister, and she stayed at WHS until she passed last year. I've had other opportunities to work with him since then, and he was a true educator in every sense of the word. He will be missed.

I enjoyed working with Mr. Polk at WHS. He was always a pleasant and down to earth principal.
I also had the pleasure of working with his wife, Mrs. Polk, at Christa McAuliffe. She was always very
kind and loving person. My prayers are with the family..

Mr. Polk hired me in 1989 at Baytown Jr. High. He was a great mentor for me and taught me to put students first! He was always there for his students and staff and strived for excellence! Rest In Peace Mr. Polk you will never be forgotten.

If I could Id tell him thank you for hiring me in 1998. I had been applying to FBISD to no avail. You gave me a chance and I stayed 21 years until my retirement in 2018. Fortunately Ive had the opportunity to chat with him even after he retired because he remained a champion for the students. Sleep well, its time to take your rest. C. Robinson
