EDWARD PINCUS Obituary

PINCUS--Edward K. Retired Justice, Supreme Court, Kings County, died on December 15 at 87, surrounded by love. Born January 7, 1931 to Lester and Julia Pincus. Married for 44 years to Jan Strass, who died in 2008, father of Andrea and David Pincus, father-in-law of Andrew Multer, grandfather of Jake and Sam Multer, and brother of Elaine Sacks, all of whom he adored. Ed was a graduate of Yale and Harvard Law. He was appointed to the Criminal Court of NYC in 1969, then ably served as a Justice of the Supreme Court until his retirement in 2000. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, and a Colonel in the New York Guard. Whip-smart, life of the party, honest, wry, he was happiest on a boat, in the ocean or skiing, and proudest of his family. Loving father and grandfather, loyal friend and confidant, he was much loved and will be deeply missed. Funeral services Wednesday, December 19, at 11:30am, at Frank E. Campbell, 1076 Madison Avenue, NYC. Donations in his honor can be made to the FIT Alumni Association, PO Box 1266, New York, NY 10113.
