I believe it was spring of 2000 I was asked to take a journey from NYC to Palm beach on the yacht Romanesa, I took this photo a day prior to the voyage, I don´t remember a whole lot about the trip except my talks with Mr. Meltzer, it was awesome hours and hours trawling down the open seas and intercostal, Mr Melzter shared a lot of stories in business/ art, talks about his family and his recovery process with his health. As a young man i appreciated his openness and willing to share. After the trip I happened to be back in NYC and a year is later and he invited me by his place and i got to meet his bride and see some of his artwork, i enjoyed my time with him immensely. I am sorry to learn of his passing, he will not be forgotten. -Philip Scarborough

Dear Meryl,
My heart aches for the pain you and your family are going through. Bob was a friend to all and he will be sorely missed. You both had so many genuine friends and such a wonderful family. It seems impossible that Bob is gone. You both were always so full of life, so vibrant, so fun-loving, so healthy. His passing so quickly is a shock for all. He will be sorely missed. But he will also be remembered by all.
I will be thinking of you and hoping each day gets easier. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Fondly, Clare

Dear Meryl. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. Bobby and I met in our teens when his family moved to great neck. We saw each other in Dallas back in the eighties, and lost touch with the exception of a few phone calls. He was a good friend and a good person. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I was saddened to hear the news of Bobby Meltzer's sudden passing. I knew him as Bobby. We met when we were children when my dad Sol, who was his father Abe's lawyer, was advising him about a property he was buying at Kings Point. When my dad visited Abe, I'd hang out with Bobby, since he was closest among his siblings to my age. We lost track of each other in our teens after my dad died, but about ten years ago, I discovered he had a home not far from us on Long Island. So I gave him a call and he graciously invited my husband and I for a visit. What stands out about that day is his and Meryl's warm hospitality and their magnificent gardens, which Bobby was so pleased to show us. I extend my deepest condolences to Meryl, his children and grandchildren, his siblings Bruce and Gale, and all the members of their families.
