It is with great sadness that Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman P.C., its attorneys and staff, mourn the untimely death of our esteemed colleague, partner and friend, Arlana S. Cohen on May 7th at the age of 57. Arlana was a skillful and uncompromising advocate for her clients in complex intellectual property matters. Arlana was highly regarded as an expert in trademark and trademark counterfeiting law and had been named many times as a leading attorney in the field by such publications as the New York Super Lawyers in Intellectual Property Law, the WTR 1000 World Leading Trademark Professionals and the Legal 500. Arlana's practice focused on all aspects of domestic and international trademark law including branding, product development, licensing, anti-counterfeiting and litigation in courts throughout the United States. Arlana received her undergraduate degree cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1978 and her law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1981. Besides her preeminence as an attorney, Arlana will be remembered for her devotion to the firm and her colleagues. We will miss her very much. Arlana was a long-time resident of Pelham Manor, New York and is survived by her daughter Natali Wind. Our thoughts are with Natali and her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Riverside Memorial Chapel at 76th Street and Amsterdam Avenue on Monday, May 11th, at 10am.
