JOHANSEN--John M. Ennead Architects is deeply saddened by the death of John M. Johansen. He was a maverick, a visionary architect, a free thinker and a wonderful person - an example to us all. Our thoughts are with his family, particularly his son, our colleague Christen Johansen. I worked with John from 1972 to 1975 (Roosevelt Island, Pope House, Staten Island Community College, several other projects). I owe him so much. Words do not suffice to express my gratitude for what I learned in his presence. My condolences to Chris and the entire Johansen family.
