WEINTROB--Alex, MD, age 86, died unexpectedly in his home on March 3, 2021. He will be sorely missed by Honey, his wife of 53 years, sons Jed and Seth, their wives Jessica and Tracy, and his six wonderful grandchildren: Noah, Liam, Devin, Tyler, Sean and Nathan. Also grieving are his sister Judy, and too many nephews, nieces, cousins, dear friends, colleagues and patients to list. He will be missed by all. A graduate of Harvard College and University of Pennsylvania Medical School, Alex was Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Cornell and was actively practicing until his untimely death. He served as the President of the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry, the New York Council for Adolescent Psychiatry, and the New York Council on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. For 20 years, he was Clinical Director of the Youth Residence Center in New York serving troubled teenagers. As a board-certified forensic psychiatrist, Alex served as the Co-Chair of the Interdisciplinary forum on Mental Health and Family Law of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and was a panelist of the New York State Supreme Court panel of Impartial Psychiatrists. Alex was an avid runner who completed several New York City marathons, an ocean swimmer, and a lover of opera, chamber music, and Central Park. He is irreplaceable.
