FEINMAN--Alfred. It is with great sadness that the family of Alfred Feinman announces that he passed away peacefully on January 10th at the age of 94, at home in Manhattan, surrounded by loved ones. Al was the devoted husband to Harriet Feinman for 40 years until her death in 1986 and was then partner to Barbara Munves, who survives him. Al was devoted to his family: his sons Bob, Marty and the late Andy Feinman; his grandchildren Joel (and wife Haley), Sacha, Zarina (and husband Will), Nick and Reuben; his daughters-in-law Peggy, Mary and Amy (and her children Jack and Natalie); and to Barbara's daughters Cathy and Julie and their families. Al was born in Brooklyn to immigrants Sam and Minna Feinman and was brother to the late Boris Feinman. From an early age he excelled academically. After college he briefly attended medical school before joining a family owned dress manufacturing business. In mid-life he courageously shifted to the world of finance where he joined the firm of Glickenhaus and Co. under the mentorship of his dear friend Seth Glickenhaus. Al thrived and delighted in this long second career and retired at 88. He loved spending time with family and friends, golf, traveling, fishing, the opera and sitting in his backyard in Purchase, taking in the natural beauty. He was a card shark who loved winning at Gin. He would delight in telling you every card you held before he saw your hand. He was a rock, a man of integrity, determination, commitment and class. He believed in family and hard work. Al gave generously to others throughout his life and was loved and admired by all who knew him. He will be missed and remembered. Donations in his memory may be made to Planned Parenthood and the Jewish Senior Home in Rochester, NY.
