ALLAN BLAINE Obituary
With tremendous sadness we mourn the loss of Rabbi Dr. Allan Blaine, beloved husband of Suzanne Blaine, A"S, and Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Beth El of Rockaway Park, NY. Rabbi Blaine served as a United States chaplain in Munich Germany and advisor to the Jewish Military Personnel in Munich and Berlin. Past member of the executive board of the New York Board of Rabbis and leader in Solomon Schechter Day School Movement for over three decades. Recipient of many honors and recognized by the state of Israel for pioneering tourism. Popular host for 15 years of the NBC TV series "The Jewish Scene." Survived by children Ari and Simone Blaine, Deena and Michael Seelenfreund; sister Mimi Gershen; grandchildren Zach, Gabi, Sam, Danielle, Isaac, Alex, Ben and Lily.

Always had a positive and good feeling about Allan who was a classmate in Seminary days and marveled at his great work on TV in NY. Sorry that we didn't have a closer relationship over the years after leaving NY area. Hoping his family is comforted by his outstanding reputation and blessed name that he carried with dignity.
