BURTON AHRENS Obituary

AHRENS--Burton. Burton Joel Ahrens, died peacefully at age 83 on February 18, 2021. Born to Milton and Beatrice on September 18, 1937, Burt is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce, sons Matthew and Russell, daughters-in-law Erin and Rita, and grandchildren Naomi, Brooke, Byron, Noah, and Bennett. Known for his affinity for debate, logic, history and classical music, he engaged and befriended everyone he met. A graduate of Cornell University and Yale Law School, Burt founded his own law firm, Feit & Ahrens, and then private investment advisory, The Edgehill Corporation. An only child, he often turned strangers into friends and friends into family, whether while sailing in Greece or riding the bus in Manhattan. He loved backgammon at the University Club, photography, golfing and music in Norfolk, CT, and food almost everywhere. Most of all, he loved sharing moments with and bragging about his grandchildren. He always tried to make the lives of those he loved better. He, his delicious ad hoc cooking, and optimism, will be remembered with a smile by the many he touched. Donations in his memory may be made to: Dr. Oh Cancer Research: www.giving.mountsinai.org or The Norfolk Music Festival www.yale.edu/givemusic

My father, Glenn M. Feit, Sr. co-founded Feit & Ahrens together over 50 years ago. Burt was always warm, gracious, and kind to me as a child. RIP Burt!

God bless Burt. I just found this and it breaks my heart. He was such a wonderful human being and I always loved our conversations. One of my favorites. He will be in my prayers.
