It is with great sadness to announce David's recent passing at age 66 on November 22, 2017. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of the late Werner and Gertrude Levy and the brother of the late Michael Levy. David was a graduate of Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri. A year after college, David came to New York City where he began his career as a successful composer, playwright, lyricist and director for numerous regional and New York City theater productions. He is survived by many adoring friends. In accordance with David's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A memorial service will be held in the Spring. Donations in David's memory may be sent to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids at 165 West 46th Street, New York, NY 10036.
