The Board of Trustees and the entire Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) community extend our deepest sympathy at the passing of Dean O'Hare, whose leadership and strong commitment to the Hospital have helped to support the organization's growth and development. A member of the Board of Trustees since 1990, including 11 years as co-chairman, his insights and generosity have had a profound impact on the HSS community. With his strong business background and firm commitment to quality health care, he played a vital role in the evolution of HSS into a world-class institution for orthopedic and rheumatologic care. Mr. O'Hare offered his leadership experience and expertise to numerous Board committees, serving on the Executive, Finance, Governance and Planning Committees. All at Hospital for Special Surgery are grateful for his contributions to the Annual Gala, the Autumn Benefit and the Future Capital Expansion Fund, among other endeavors. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his entire family. Kendrick Wilson III, Chair, Board of Trustees; Todd Albert, M.D., Surgeon- in-Chief; Mary K. Crow, M.D., Physician-in-Chief; Lionel Ivashkiv, M.D., Chief Scientific Officer; Louis A. Shapiro, President and CEO, Hospital for Special Surgery
