WILMERDING--Elsie (Storm), of Boston, MA was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in New Canaan, CT, on September 1, 1944, passed away at age 73 on July 27, 2018 in her house in Blue Hill, ME, surrounded by her family. After spending 13 years as learning specialist at the Fenn School in Concord, MA, she authored writing workbooks and the young adult historical novel, This Land is Mine! A story of Crazy Horse and George Custer. Elsie was married to Patrick R Wilmerding for 50 years and is survived by him and her children, Patrick S. Wilmerding, Michael R. Wilmerding, and Eliza R. Wilmerding; her sisters, Mary Allen and Sally Lockee; and her seven grandchildren with whom she was very close. Elsie loved teaching, traveling, gardening, flyfishing, sailing, skiing, literature, classical music, and spending time with her family. She was a supporter of Blue Hill Maine's Kneisel Hall, the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and Max Warburg Courage Curriculum, among other organizations. Those who wish may donate in Elsie's name to ALS Foundation Attn. Stephen Winthrop. Friends and family are welcome to attend the memorial service 10:30am on Friday, September 14 2018 at King's Chapel, 58 Tremont St., Boston, MA, 02108.
