Prof. Levy was my playwriting professor at Stony Brook. I credit his encouragement for my continued work with playwriting, scriptwriting and film production from 1992 to the present. He is missed.

Jonathan Levy left a legacy of teachers and artists all over the world. Many of his students stayed in touch with him to get advice in their theatrical, television or film projects or their work in the classroom. He was a master teacher and mentor and it was an honor to have been his student and to have worked with him.

My favorite part of any day was stopping by Dr. Levy's office, tapping on the door and walking in to find him writing or reading - he'd look up - I'd sit down and we would begin to discuss theatre, or poetry, ethics, and on and on. He was adored by all who knew him.
