JOSEPH KUH Obituary

KUH--Joseph Rees M.D., 93, died November 16, 2012 in Manhattan. He received his M.D. in 1943 from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and his B.A., Phi Beta Kappa in 1939 from Columbia College. He was an active supporter of the College throughout his life. Dr. Kuh was a Certified Internist and practiced privately from his Manhattan brownstone for many years. He was an Attending Physician at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City as well as Attending Physician Emeritus until his retirement in December 2005. Military service during WWII included participation in both Normandy and Okinawa invasions, as well as recall to active duty as Lieutenant Commander during the Korean conflict. Dr. Kuh is survived by his wife of forty two years Nana Elwood-Kuh. His parents, Fannie Rees Kuh and Joseph Henry Kuh predeceased, as did their younger son, Richard H, whose wife and children survive. Chapel service Tuesday, November 27 at 11:45am at "The Riverside," 76 St and Amsterdam Avenue followed by burial at Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
