When I went back to RISD after having graduated 8 years, I walked upstairs to my old design studio on the 7th floor - there was Krzystof. I did not say a single word and decided to try to melt into the crowd of students like I was just part of the critique. Krzystof looked over at me as if not a single day had passed since I left the college and told the students there how great it is when he gets to see his students from the past. Not only was Krzystof a man of the world, but was one of the greatest influences in design and in my life. I was very sad to hear of your passing, and very sad that I did not get to say goodbye. The world will sadly miss everything you are - you were such an incredible inspiration Krzystof.

When I was about 3 years out of RISD, I moved to Korea to take a design job. I was pretty far from home and did not speak a single word of Korean. I think I had just wrapped up my first or second week and I was completely worn out. I went to the hotel restaurant to grab a bite and after sitting down to order I recognized a voice. It was Krzysztof. It was great seeing him and he really helped me recharge as we talked about our shared passions for design and music. How could we possibly have ended up in the same hotel, at the same restaurant, at the same time, on the other side of the world? Seems impossible ... but also perfectly logical. Krzysztof was always there to inspire and support me in my creative life. We lost touch over the years (because I stink at staying in touch with people) but I have never forgotten the things he taught me and the friend he always was. I am so sorry for your loss and so grateful to have known him.
