On August 6, Marvin Dannenberg, loving husband, devoted father, father-in-law and grandfather, and long-time dermatologist in Huntington, NY, passed away at age 89 at his home in Northport, NY. Dr. Dannenberg was born on November 27, 1928 in Brooklyn to Max and Fanny Dannenberg. He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy from 1959-1961. On September 27, 1955, he married Janet Arlene Murphy, and for 56 years, they lived in Huntington, where they raised four children, Jeffrey, Terry, Mark and Michael. Throughout his professional career, he was an active member of The Long Island Dermatological Society and The Suffolk County Medical Society, as well as a member of the medical staff at Huntington Hospital. He was known for his good-humored nature, his loyal commitment to family, friends and patients, and his passion for the game of golf. Dr. Dannenberg was preceded in death by his dear parents, his brother, Stanley, and his sister, June, and he is survived by his wife Janet, his four children, and his nine grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Sunday, August 12, at Temple Beth-El, located at 660 Park Avenue, Huntington, NY. Donations may be sent to Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk, Inc.
