He was born on November 17, 1958 in Newark, New Jersey. His parents, Howard and Renee Carr are both deceased. He grew up in Fair Lawn, NJ and graduated high school at Paramus High School, studied philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and business at Hofstra University. His career path took him through several Wall Street firms where he excelled with a true creative spirit as well as a skilled and successful businessman. He was born a musician, a master in percussions, and composed and recorded music in his leisure time under Blue Prints Records on Spotify and other media. He loved to travel and along with his wife, Judy, visited several countries all over the globe.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Judith Arteche-Carr, and his siblings Steven, Randy and his wife, Cheryl, and Sandy, and his nieces and nephew Rachel, Stacie, Amy, Kristen, Cari and Josh.
